Great followup to "The Monster in the Mirror."

Monster in the Mirror: Looking for H. P. Lovecraft por Robert H. Waugh

A collection of meaty, in-depth essays regarding the fiction of H.P. Lovecraft. Waugh's insights into Lovecraft's themes and symbols are insightful, sometimes surprisingly so. Among the essays I found revelatory were ones on the role of racism vs. antisemitism in HPL, the outsider as autodidact, and the way HPL's fiction mirrors his Puritan religious background. They're all pretty dense, reflecting an erudite reader, so I'd recommend it only to the more devoted Lovecraft reader. (or amateur Lovecraft scholar)… (más)
