Ren Warom

It's got all the cyberpunk background elements and they are heavy and dense, which is exactly what I'm looking for. What it doesn't have is... much else. Two main characters, male and female, which are actually the same, and that is a person with some unsolved issues with an ex. And with ridiculous, teenish behaviour, though they are supposed to be super tough and best of the best in the crime world.
Immature would be the best word to sum up this book.

A very tough read, both the violent lives of all the characters and the world they're in. Not sure if I'll read Virology or not (which continues this world).

DNF on page 29. Sordid, unpleasant torture-porn in an extreme dystopia.

Cyberpunk police procedural – incredibly good

Oh my this is a good book. I had not heard of Ren Warom till I got this one and now I have to search out her others. Ms Warum's cyberpunk world building is stunning, her characters are impeccable, and the murder mystery plot is convoluted and believable within the world construct. No one else writes cyberpunk police procedurals, do they?
