Andrew Scott plays such a good straight man!!! GOD

I love dry British humor.

Usually, when something falls flat, I'm enamored with the beginning and disappointed with the latter half of the work. This is one of those rare stories that gets better and better (and has a perfect ending)!

I will say- I didn't read the synopsis. Idk what I was expecting, but I was hoping it wasn't ACTUALLY just the script. Still incredible. I never loved the first season (it is heart wrenchingly depressing imo), but it is still very good and lays the groundwork for the Best season of television of all time. Phoebe Waller-Bridge does dry wit like no one else.

"I was taught that if we’re born with love, then life is about
choosing the right place to put it. People talk about that a lot. It
‘feeling right’. ‘When it feels right, it’s easy.’ But I’m not sure
that’s true. It takes strength to know what’s right.

And love isn’t something that weak people do. Being a romantic
takes a hell of a lot of hope. I think what they mean is ... When
you find somebody that you love ... It feels like hope."

An excellent addition/complement to the play and show that gives insight into Waller-Bridge's creative process

Worth it for many reasons! Among them: the gloriously effective script formatting, stage directions, cues, etc; being able to revisit both series; more insights into the making of and creative process that went into it.

I was expecting more differences from script to screen. Does anyone know if they are exactly verbatim...? I thought I noticed discrepancies, some lines in different places than in the show, or that weren't there in the show, but I could be wrong. The second series in particular seemed exactly the same (as if it were dictated from screen to page, not the other way around — which, not the process at all, the script is never like what ends up on stage or screen exactly). I thought we'd see more cutting-room floor lines in here, which I would've loved. Comment if you have any info!… (más)

Significant differences from the TV show (which I saw first) and without seeing the performance it feels a bit flat. But it's still raw, upsetting, dirty and utterly human. Would love to actually see a live performance but I guess that ship has sailed.
