This is the first edition that the National Gallery of Art put out,(1956) with the 23 color plates pasted in. The others are b/w. LT thinks this is a duplicate, but it's not. I think my 198? edition has a few more pictures in it.

148 pictures, 57 in color. I was surprised to find the color plates glued in separately. in a book at this late date.(1979). Beautiful plates, though.
