A book about a girl who overcomes her fears of swimming with the help of her walrus imaginary friend. :) If your kids would get ideas from a book where a girl is afraid of a shark being in the pool, skip this one.

I wanted to give this a better review. So many children have a fear of the water. Or swimming. Or sharks. One of my biggest memories from childhood is freaking out at the movie Zeus and Roxanne where there are sharks in the ocean and I thought the dog was going to get eaten.

For the record, I still barely do shark movies. Although I finally watched JAWS and I thought that was plain ol' hokey. I kind of hated 47 meters down....because a shark cage is my worst nightmare. Anyway

This is another book about tackling anxiety which, as a person who struggles with anxiety, I appreciate it! The subtle nuances of being busy during the week (which helps distract from the anxiety) is one that I can relate to. Still, I don't fully get why the other character was a walrus. What a delightful story. Peggy is uprooted from her safe little yard and doesn't think twice, she turns it into an adventure. The illustrations are what attracted me to this charming chicken story, they are beautiful and fun!!
Can you take on the world a bravely as Peggy?
