Mickey on the Move: Farming is about a little boy who loves helping his mom on the farm with the animals, but one thing about Mickey is that he is deaf in both ears. I was excited to read and review the first book about Micky and his Cochlear implants that helps him hear, and this second book is just as exciting. Before Micky couldn’t go outside with his Cochlear implants because he couldn’t get them wet, but now he has the new Aqua Cochlear implants that allow Mickey to go outside and enjoy the sounds, and he didn’t have to worry about getting them wet.

I so much enjoyed this book. I fell in love with this sweet little boy in the first book, and I love him in this new one. And these Mickey books are about a real little boy. It is fun and interesting to read about the Cochlear implants that help Mickey hear the sounds he wouldn’t hear without them. Jenny Phelps does an amazing job bring this story to life with the vibrant and beautiful illustrations that fit the words so well on each page. I love the book cover with the same illustrations as well. This is a special little book that would fit well in any elementary school library as well as any daycare. It would be a fabulous read to help children understand these implants if they are around someone who has them. I love that this story shows how a child living with these Aqua Cochlear implants can enjoy life just as other children do. I encourage parents to pick up this book for your children as well.

I loved the first Mickey on the Move book and was excited to catch up with Mickey in his newest adventure, Mickey on the Move: Farming. It was fun and entertaining taking an adventure around the farm with little Mickey. Mickey is an adorable child and I admire how he is able to overcome the obstacles he gone through. Once again, Michelle Wagner does a wonderful job teaching young ones what it is like for those who have hearing difficulties. Children must learn about everyone’s differences and have compassion with what everyone go through. That is a life lesson that people of all ages need to learn, as well.

Mickey on the Move: Farming is creatively illustrated by the talents of Jenny Phelps. She did a wonderful job of bringing the story to life. It gives a perfect visual depiction of what is going on and a wonderful addition to Mickey’s story that keeps little ones engaged.

Mickey on the Move: Farming will be getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. It would be a great story for readers between the ages of four and nine. I believe it would be a great addition for a school library or classroom so other children can have a better understanding what one may be going through. I am hoping the Michelle Wagner will be releasing more Mickey books and see what else Mickey is up to.

Mickey on the Move Farming is about a little boy who is severely deaf in both his ears. This adventure is the second that comes after Mickey on the Move. This book discusses cochlear implants and what might happen if they get wet. If you want to learn about Mickey and his cochlear implants, read Mickey on the Move.

As Mickey on the Move: Farming continues to talk about the cochlear implant and what it is like for Mickey to enjoy the great outdoors. Mickey enjoys raising his chickens, gardening, and helping with his dad's vineyard. However, he enjoys the outdoors and other fun kids' things like swimming. There is one worry while Mickey enjoys the outdoors and some summer fun and stands hampered by weather with his current cochlear implant.

In this book Mickey on the Move Farming, we are introduced to a new accessory to the aqua cochlear implant (which I believe is an addition or add-on). We see Mickey with these wants he been when he offers this. What summer fun or outdoor fun and nature is he going to enjoy?

What are cochlear implants? - A cochlear implant is a small electronic device that electrically stimulates the cochlear nerve (nerve for hearing). The implant has external and internal parts. The outer part sits behind the ear. It picks up sounds with a microphone. It then processes the sound and transmits it to the internal part of the implant.

What will he do with his newfound freedom with some water-safe cochlear implant? What adventures will he do and go on? This picture book shows Mickey enjoying some of the great outdoors with his new, improved aqua cochlear implant? The picture book is done well. It is an excellent book for children to learn about others that may be different. Also, remember that children that are deaf or have severe hearing loss want to be like any other child or children.… (más)

Mickey on the Move Farming is a cute story which covers various aspects of his young life, including a hearing disability.

This book can be a useful tool in educating small children on a few of the problems experienced when a child has this disability. It also offers improvements technology has made in assisting people with this disability.

Illustrator, Jenny Phelps, created a colorful abstract, amateur cartoon-like characters. The illustrations are bold and colorful. However, it is not a style preference of this reviewer and it appears like childlike drawings.

The Title was, perhaps not the best "fit" although it has some farming activities in it, the content isn't centered around farming.

It is recommended or reading groups and for educational purposes.

I offer a Four Stars rating for interesting material in a fairly well written, quality made hardcover book. This book was gifted me with no pressure to post a positive review. This is my honest review.… (más)
