I'm hot and cold with this one, but Vincent mostly gets points for quoting much of the inspirations King had for his various novels and stories, even if they're mostly "what ifs?"
It's interesting that the author chooses to do synopses of some of the books, yet others seem to get a very short shrift, and I'm not sure why.
But overall, it's about Stephen King, so it's always going to be entertaining. I just wish it had gone more in depth.

Excellent collection of some really scary stories regarding planes.
You can feel the plane taking off in Richard Matherson's tale and once you are up in the (mostly) blue skies, the horror really sets in.
My favourite is Joe Hill's story that is a little too real for comfort, which makes it all the more horrific.
Really enjoyed my journey with these talented writers.

This book has been sitting on my shelf for over 10 years. I bought it before I discovered that I am not a fan of Stephen King. In the last 10 years, I’ve started a few King novels and finished exactly one. His style and manner of writing just isn’t my thing.
However, as this book attests, my singular opinion is only that. An opinion which has no bearing on King’s chronic success. I actually enjoyed reading about his life and the wild inspirations for his novels. But I will say that the editor and/or designer of this particular biography assembled this more like a textbook. The main text was broken up by asides and inserts that occasionally spanned several pages. Constantly flipping back and forth to attempt to read this thing in any semblance of an order grew tiresome.
