A very interesting little book on a very controversial subject.

Is there a supreme intelligence and how did we humans get here on this planet? Ungerecht begins by covering the laws of matter, energy and thermodynamics giving many examples and explanations of why they behave the way they do. He then moves on to consciousness where he explains what he knows it to be and not to be. In the next chapter you get a sense of his theory of creation and in the following chapter he analyzes those theories. In chapter eleven he turns to a discussion of the use of God in the public school system including what has been going on in our society in recent years in regards to this subject. Ungerecht shares his ideas on how he thinks our government can implement a program into our schools where our children would be presented with different views and beliefs in regards to God and spirituality. He explains in some detail how this would then help our children decide for themselves what to believe in based on the evidence presented by professional scholars. However, I can see his point in the reason why what our children are taught in school in regards to evolution needs serious updating. This book has a lot of information for it's size and I learned a few things in the process. Ungerecht's makes a good point in his book when he says that the proof scientists search for when it comes to acknowledgement of our origins of creation and our existence cannot be proven due to its complexity and our lack of our ability to understand.… (más)
