Ulmer's Applied Grammatology is a great resource for anyone interested in Derrida's ideas. It goes in detail into Derrida's deconstructive process and elucidates important features of deconstruction such as the signature effect and homonymy which are key elements to the process. Ulmer teases out the pedagogical implications of Derrida's theory and presents them in a way that extends their application into a modern context. Given that the book was written in 1985 there are a lot of technological advancements for grammatology which could be further explored but his emphasis on the video and its relation to collage in modern art is compelling. As an overarching pedagogy Ulmer doesn't give so much of a direction to go as a method to employ, much like Derrida makes use of the model in his deconstruction.… (más)
