Story about a couple (teacher-librarian Bernadette Chapman and Colonel Sam Forrester) trying to get through the African jungle while the hero mistakenly thinks Bernadette is a nun. An okay jungle romance by Lynn Turner.

I didn't like this as well as some others. It just seemed too blurry around the edges. You know what happened between them 8 years ago but they never really discuss it and I think it needed discussing. Her 8 year reaction to it was extreme enough that I think they really needed a solid discussion. Other than that I really didn't care about either the H or the h. Meh

And I seriously love [b:Forever|3211778|Forever|Lynn Turner|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1330858138l/3211778._SY75_.jpg|3245447] by the same author and was hoping for another winner but not so much.… (más)

This is a good story. Bernadette and Sam are running from bad guys through a jungle, one of my favorite story themes. She pretends to be a nun to keep him from coming on to her. But they end up together and he suffers great guilt for it before she fesses up. Really like this oldy.

Reporter Vicky Rand is tired of the boring assignments she has been getting so she is thrilled when she's assigned to cover a "murder-mystery weekend". (Mystery addicts come together for the weekend, they know at some point a fake murder will happen, which is staged by actors. Then they try and see who can solve the murder. They will go by train and end up at the mystery mansion---a really old, isolated country inn). Vicky is eager to go so she packs her bags, says goodbye to her cat Groucho, and heads to the train station. When she arrives at the station she observes the other participants of the murder-mystery weekend and takes some photos. One guy stands out---Cole Madigan. He's the most gorgeous man she's ever seen! Tall, blond, and handsome. After she introduces herself to some of the other passengers she boards the train. While on the train there are some red herrings. The passengers get to know each other better and look forward to solving the upcoming "murder". But to their surprise, a real murder does occur.

This was an enjoyable read. There wasn't really much action until they arrived at the mystery mansion so it took awhile for the real suspense to kick in, probably the last fourth of the book. But I still enjoyed it. I liked Vicky. She wasn't a TSTL heroine. I also liked Cole and the interesting cast of characters/suspects.

Another older, fun Harlequin Intrigue from the 1980's.
