Augustus Trowbridge

Augustus Trowbridge was born in Manhattan, New York on August 14, 1934. He received bachelor's and master's degrees in American literature from Brown University. He taught English and social studies at the Dalton School in Manhattan for nearly ten years. In 1966, he and his wife founded Manhattan mostrar más Country School in an effort to reflect Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream of an integrated society. He retired as Manhattan Country School's director in 1997. His book, Begin with a Dream: How a Private School with a Public Mission Changed the Politics of Race, Class, and Gender in American Education, was published in 2005.
