This was a good book with lots of potential to expand into a series. My only disappointment was that it seems to come to...not a cliffhanger...an abrupt ending. I think it could have been wrapped up better.

I only made it through 50% of the book before I had to quit. Most of the action was just not believable. Olivia is indestructible and undefeatable and always comes out on top in every situation. Thwarting an attack on the president, stopping a hijacking, becoming a stripper, bringing down human traffickers, none of this is a problem for Olivia. No one is that infallible. The villains were all so despicable and there were just too many of them. The kids were bullied in vicious ways in almost every scene where they appeared and it seemed like everyone was evil except Olivia and her kids. The other characters just weren't very likeable either. I just didn't like it. I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publishers for a fair and honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.… (más)

l love the cover, a hot babe that is a were leopard and works for the secret service. After his death, Olivia moves to a small town and goes undercover for the sheriff’s department, as a stripper. Her focus is the human traffickers, but the terrorists have a bullseye on her too. I do like my stories down and dirty, and this one is filled with despicable characters.

Imagine, if you can, a terrorist staring down this sexy lady, only to watch her turn into a leopard and attack them. I can hardly wait for that action. Olivia has no problem with self confidence. And why should she? She’s super strong looks younger than her years and has all the innate talents of a leopard. She’s a widow with three kids and has all the everyday problems too.

The kids go through normal teenage issues at school, Tyler and Tammy, and they are were leopards too, so they have additional problems to deal with. They must hide their strength and keep from shifting in front of the totally human people.

I don’t care much for Cary, the guy she’s dating. He’s whiny and a bore. She needs a hot athletic something. I hope he develops into a character I can see her with.

I love that there are two storylines running together filled with mystery and danger abound.

The story does jump around a lot and the villains are disgusting pigs. Something is missing too. The mystery, suspense, thrills, tragedy, emotions on the edge, anger and disgust…but it doesn’t quite get there. I does cover some disturbing subjects like human trafficking, drugs, rape and assault, but the words don’t get me as riled up as I expected.

I know where we are going now and I am eager to see how it happens, how far it goes and how it ends up. Even though that certain spark is missing and something about the writing is a bit off, I loved the story. This is Stephen J Tillman’s first novel and I see good things coming, so I will have my eye on him.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Leopard’s Daughter by Stephen J Tillman.
