- Biografía breve
- Oskar Jan Tauschinski was born in Żabokruki, Galicia, present-day Poland, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. As a student in Vienna, he began a relationship with the writer Alma Johanna Koenig. In 1938, he was called to military service in the Polish army, and during World War II was taken prisoner by the Germans. He was released in 1940. After working as a ceramist, he turned to writing novels and children's books, and also became an editor and translator. He served as Koenig's literary executor and biographer, and established the Alma-Johanna-Koenig-Preis in her memory in 1957.
