With a wealth of detail, color photographs on almost every one of the 192 large-format pages, and line drawings of the plan and elevation of some of the iconic structures, it is one of those books that an enthusiast of the history of architecture and art must add to the collection, even if actually reading it through is not an easy undertaking, and it may be difficult to retain much of the information the first time around. An added bonus is a chronological timeline at the end, giving the significant historical events from AD 0 to mid-19th century, with separate columns for each of Japan, Korea, China, India, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean-West region.… (más)
