My Elephant is Blue por Melinda Szymanik
gentle tale of sadness that takes time to banish
This book is a metaphor for depression in kids. It’s the big blue elephant sitting on the chest. This book isn’t about teaching the child to “get better” but more of, it happens, and it can be lived with, and treated. This book is more about saying “it’s okay” then “let’s fix you”. I like that, and I think for the kids that need it, they will like this book.

I give 4 stars to The Were-Nana. It's a picture book so will start on the illustrations, great! The pages are quite dark for a children's story but it suits the scary theme. The spooky font definitely adds something.
I have to make comment on the name Nana Lupin. It reminds me of Professor Lupin of Harry Potter, who happens to turn into were-wolf at each full moon. I wonder if there is a meaning behind the name or if this is pure coincidence?
The ending made me smile. Just like all scary Nana's, she steps in and scares her grandson to make the playing field even again.… (más)
