When I came across this book on NetGalley, I thought Alison Sweeney? You mean Sami from Days of Our Lives writes books too? Is there anything this woman can't do? Turns out this is the second novel she has written.

I found the book to be a little too slow on the pacing but read it in an evening anyway. It was a cute story though a bit predictable. All in all I wouldn't say it was a bad read but at the same time it wasn't a book that had me raving to all my friends. I also got a little annoyed with all of the behind the scenes tv stuff. I completely see how it fit the character but at the same time I think it was slightly overboard and could have been toned down. I kept thinking in my head "I get it, you know tv." It's a good thing I soon forgot the blurb, because the back cover reveals too much. If I hadn't forgotten, it would have taken me out of the story seeing where I was going. There was a lot of good in this book: yes, it followed the predictable formula of a chic lit (it was slightly cheesy, which is fun, not trashy!) but it had a perspective that was less known, that not of the actor, director or often used publicist but of the script supervisor. It hits the right notes to develop sympathy and really root for the main character. This book was quite fun to read! I am debating keeping it for a little pick-me-up for a future date, but am yet unsure if I will enjoy it again if I know where it it going.… (más)
