Biografía breve
Margaret L. Suckley, known as Daisy, was born at Wilderstein, her parents' mansion in Rhinebeck, New York, a descendant of a prominent Dutch-English settler family. She was a distant cousin, close friend, and confidante of future President Franklin D. Roosevelt (FDR). She attended Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. During World War II, she served as a nurse's aide, and often stayed for long visits at the White House. She served as FDR's personal archivist and later became the archivist for his presidential library in Hyde Park. She raised Scottish terriers and gave one to FDR, which he renamed Fala. After Fala became famous, Daisy wrote a children's book about him. She was with FDR in Warm Springs, Georgia, when he died on April 12, 1945.

After her own death, a suitcase full of confidential letters from FDR was found in her home, along with her diaries. In these, she recorded details of people she met and events she witnessed at the White House and at the Roosevelt estate in Hyde Park. These documents are considered a valuable addition to the historical record of FDR's presidency.
