As Christians we are called to be “Fishers of Men”, this book examines that concept and builds a firm foundation for reaching people for God’s Kingdom. I found this book inspiring and needed for this time.

This book illustrates how God calls us to work together to help souls who are hurting. We need to come together and be compassionate and caring to those who need help.

The author does an excellent job of relating being disciples to fishing, just as Jesus reached out to fishermen to be his disciples. Christians need to read this book and then actually put the ideas into practice. So check out this book for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

I have read several of the author’s books and heard him speak a few times. I have always been impressed by his compassion to get the Word out about Jesus. He encourages me with his thirst to go out and preach to every nation. I liked the analogy about fishing. If we are going to go fish, let’s bring two poles. We as a church need to be working together and not be standing alone. God wants us to minister to others as a team spreading out further to reach others.

With everything going on in the world today , it’s time to mend racial tension, stand together to fight off the enemy and seek freedom for everyone. “We become intimate with the One to whom we pray, the One with whom we pray and the One for whom we pray.” I loved that statement because as we pray we grow closer to God and have a deeper relationship with Him. Prayer is essential to every person and ministry. We must pray for guidance, wisdom and compassion as we go out and minister His Word.

I liked the different illustrations the author uses to show us how God calls His people to go all over the World. The net is wide, but God wants us to gather that net and close the gap that keeps His people distant from each other. We never know where we may be called, but God will prepare us and be there wherever He sends us. “The only thing that can satisfy the longing in our hearts and souls is to do the will of God and to finish His work. To do so, we need to get our eyes off of our own two feet and look up. Look up and see the fields, ripe and ready!”

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

In Search of a Father's Blessing by Doug Stringer is a thought-provoking and inspirational book. The author believes "that at the core of every problem we experience as an individual, a generation, and even as a nation is disconnection from a father. It's an issue of breach, an issue of broken trust." Beginning with that premise he continues on to describe the generational differences and the need for multigenerational relationships. Relationships that mimic that of a Heavenly Father, relationships that actualize identity through affirmation, acceptance, and approval. Relationships that have the give and take of technical knowledge and skill of the youth with that of personal touch and face-to-face connection of the older generation. With scriptural references, quotes from spiritual leaders in the body of Christ and with examples from his own life and others, Stringer teaches readers about leadership. A leadership that guides, guards and governs by example, with a strong foundation built on Jesus Christ and is one characterized by servanthood and going the extra mile. The author writes with humility and urgency to help readers recognize the need to be intentional with their faith so as to bring revival to the younger generation and stand with them. The cry of all mankind is to know a father's love and Stringer reminds readers of God's desire to adopt us into His family...to recognize that He knows us by name. In Search of a Father's Blessing is an encouraging and yet impelling book that urges believers to know Who their Daddy is!

I read a very much enjoyed this book. It's so sad but oh so true and real how so many families these days are raised fatherless. It is so unfair for our children of this generation all around the world have to be raised by their mothers alone or solely by their grandparents. This is not how our Heavenly Father's intended for a child or children to be raised. Thanks for great one parent families that have a good Christian foundation to keep these children in churches to hopefully break this cycle. Also thanks to other spiritual Father's in these churches and Christian groups to show these children that people care about their futures. This book is an awesome read. This book gets both of my thumbs up 👍👍. I'm very glad I had the opportunity to read and review this wonderful book.… (más)
