"Moment of Impact" - This one had a good enough e-sample that I bought the three-part collection. But holy crap, I hate Tanner. Our main character Collin's suffered emotional child abuse and at 20 is repressed and has shit to get over. But pushing Collin and nearly outing him is manipulation. ...Ugh, it gets worse: Look, when you threaten someone, making their fear about your hurt feelings is manipulative. Collin's gonna be prone to self-blame... Yep. Predictable ending. I did not like this one at all. It's fatally flawed.
And the other two are the same characters?

I love the World of True North that Sarina Bowen has created so I was beyond thrilled to find out that other authors would be writing books set in this world in this new Speakeasy Taproom series. Karen Stivali Witt is not an author I had heard of or read prior to this book but I am eager to read more by her after enjoying this story so much. This book was a very strong start to the Speakeasy Taproom books.

I really liked both Phoebe and Sam and found them sweet and relatable. I loved their story, in fact, I enjoyed it so much that I re-read it a few days after finishing the book for the first time.

I am very excited to read more books that take place in the World of True North and more specifically the Speakeasy Taproom as I know there will be several by a variety of authors coming out soon. This is a relatable place with characters you care for and want to see a happy outcome given to. Speakeasy Taproom is a wonderful series on its own and a great spin off for Sarina Bowen's True North world.… (más)
