I'm not an expert in the matter and I decided to go for this old book because it was short. This turned out to be a good idea, since the storyline is based on the history of neuroscience. Starting with the ancient Greeks until the XXth century, the author explains what discoveries were made that are relevant to understand what are neurons and how are they supposed to work.
