It has been quite a while since I read Strange Angels and I had forgotten how much I like these characters. It picks up right where the first book left off and continues the roller coaster ride that is Dru's life. I'm curious to see what role Ash will play in the story now and am looking forward to reading Jealousy. I loved both her Dante Valentine and Jill Kismet series and am pleased that her young adult series is just as good in it's own way.
Excellent mess-up romance with a heavy side of fantasy. Loved it and read in one sitting
Prelim Review: This is a hard one to review. I accidentally stumbled onto a review of the second book (THE BANDIT KING) from a reviewer I trust (we share similar tastes, thoughts and trigger buttons) and for whatever reason a major plot point spoiler wasn't hidden or warned of and BAM.
I read it when I was only about 40% done with this book and it soured the experience a whole lot. I was almost convinced I must have misunderstood the reviewer, but then the last 10% of the novel affirmed what she had said I nearly threw my Kindle down in disappointment.
I wanted so hard for it not to be true. And yet...I'm not sure.
I'll come back and adjust this after I read the second book. Its told from the major plot point spoiler's POV (this book is told from Vianne's) and maybe answers will be found then.… (más)

2.75 stars. Ooof this was hard to get through. I was so excited for a Norse and Lord of the Rings inspired story but there were way too many parallels to LotR for me and the writing was also very reminiscent of Tolkien's - which is fine if you like that writing style, I would recommend the book for you in that case, but I find it dry and hard to get through.
