MR. TEA & THE BOBBIN’ BODY is book 2 in the Madeline’s Teahouse Mystery series. I haven’t read the first book yet, but now I can’t wait to get a hold of it!

I’ve read cozies with dog, and cats, but this was my first with a parrot, Mr. Tea. I simply fell in love with him! He is a wonderful part of the group of characters is this book.

This story was so fast paced, I felt energized reading it! The mystery was well plotted and solid. I found myself getting more and more wrapped up in the story. I felt as though I was a part of these characters, helping them search for the answers. It was also very fun. There were some real laugh out loud moments for me.

Author Leslie Matthews Stansfield has an amazing gift for storytelling. As I mentioned above, I can’t wait to read the first book, MR. TEA & THE TRAVELING TEACUP, and I’m really looking forward to a third book in this series as well!

Congratulations to Cozy Cat Press (the publishers) for yet another outstanding author in their lineup of talented writers!

Mr. Tea And The Traveling Teacup is the first book in this wonderful new series.

This was a very entertaining book. I like to be told a story and Stansfield tells a wonderful story of life in this small Maine community. A well plotted mystery, a little romance and just the right amount of humor. The old folks are an absolute joy. The girls have their Aunt Rose and Uncle Henry living next door and on the other side is Shannon, high school best friends of the girls, and her mother Mrs. Dindle. And I can't forget, Mr. Tea the macaw. He always amazes folks with the things he says. Some think that he is psychic, but he definitely is funny. I would love to live in the neighborhood.

Terry and Karen Sutter's mother passed away a few months earlier. They have decided to turn their mother's home into a teahouse and possibly adding a B&B in the future. Terry is glad that her sister will be arriving soon, as three teacups have mysteriously fallen off the middle shelf they were sitting on for no explainable reason. One evening after having supper at their Aunt and Uncle's, they come home to find the stairs to attic down and what appears to be blood. Fortunately it is only paint, but who got into the house and how?

Terry and Karen start to ask their aunt and uncle, Mrs. Dindle and Det. Greg Mullins, or as Mr. Tea calls him, "hunk alert". It appears that the house is haunted, but no one is sure by whom. It seem that that the previous owners of Mrs. Dindle house, a couple spinsters, went missing one evening and their whereabouts was never determined. Even Terry and Karen's house has a history, too. The owner before their parents was a reputed bank robber and it is thought the money is buried some where on the property.

Definitely looking forward to the next book to see what words of wisdom Mr. Tea will come up, what new comments Uncle Henry will have about Mrs. Dindle and see how Terry's possible romance with Greg progresses.

"Polly" put the kettle on, we'll all have tea and mystery!

This 1st-in-series book makes a wonderful debut. This book is fun and fancy-free, enjoyable even with a murder mystery to solve. At first I wasn't quite sure what the mystery was, then decided I'd fallen into Alice's rabbit hole. Amidst all the turmoil going on around them, Leslie Stansfield's characters are definitively fleshed out right from the start, very easy to fall in love with...can romance be far behind? I enjoyed the way the story rolled out from the first minute the teacup flew off the shelf to the decidedly vocal and psychic macaw.

The premise of the story dates back to the late 1800s with a string of unsolved bank robberies. But somehow the past is quickly passing the present! This story spoke to me on many levels including the despondency of the aging population at a time when most would rather be in their own homes, the lives of the people involved through inheritance of money stolen 100 years ago, what happens to it if it's found? The support the two sisters give each other after their mother dies, and what happens to her plans of a teahouse and a B&B now she is gone. Happily the girls do open a Tea Shop complemented with an unusually entertaining and talkative macaw, who introduces himself as Mr. T. soon changed to Mr. Tea.

This book is well-paced, with strange happenings in the Tea Shop; thieves, murder, break-ins, strange hints from Mr. Tea, especially as he greets with "Hello Ladies!" the very dead but lively night visitors only he sees, the Guthrie Sisters. All in all, I think this is going to be a fascinating and enjoyable series, I predict a long run.
