My mom turned me on to this book many years ago. What a cute memoir of life in Africa in the late 50's and early 60's. The author just died in March 2017. My mom's favorite line is "madam the mongoose shit under the dining room table." My favorite lines are "I am curing a leopard skin with the aid of a book entitled Easy Home Tanning. Of all the lying, ambiguous, misleading titles I have ever read, this one is tops." The continuing later in the paragraph, "The whole venture is Bob' idea. He is sure I can tan a skin if I put my mind to it. What degradation people will endure for flattery."… (más)
