David A. Sousa is an international consultant in educational neuroscience and author and is a member of the Cognitive Neuroscience Society. He has been an adjunct professor of education at Seton Hall University and a visiting lecturer at Rutgers University. Dr. Sousa has been interviewed by Matt mostrar más Lauer on the NBC Today Show and by National Public Radio about his work with schools using brain research. Recommended by a teacher in Math teachers collective and collaborative Facebook group; it’s a textbook; she found it one of the most interesting and useful to explain to high school students why she does some of the things in math class.

Useful stuff based on a good idea. The book is divided into logical sections. I read the introductory part that includes a justification with references for including the arts in STEM education. It also gives some ways to get the ball rolling (take an art teacher to lunch). I skipped the elementary and high school sections but read the middle school chapter and the final parts that offer some lesson planning ideas. i jotted down a few ideas of my own as I went and I hope to refer to these when school starts up again next year.… (más)
