Introduce the book:
Do you know what the word empathy means? Do you recognize the way others might be feeling?

Tell about the book:
Emily is bugging her older sister and she asks if she has any empathy but she does not know what that word means. Emily wonders if it really even matters if she was to notice how other people are feeling. However as she goes throughout her day starting with her father she realizes the effect it has on everyone she came in contact with. At the end of the day she explains to her sister the impact that empathy has on her.

Tell about your favorite part
My favorite part is when Emily is standing up for people for what is just and to help everyone feel included. This was especially done when she made room for the girl on the bus and when she asked the boy at recess how he would feel if someone did that to him.

Give a recommendation
I recommend this book to anyone who like reading books that will help develop children’s social and emotional skills.

Write an ending sentence:
Developing empathy can have unexpected and wonderful reactions in the people who use it.
