“The atonement is just a gospel topic until it becomes personal. Then it takes on a power and understanding that only those who experience it understand.”

When the Atonement Becomes Personal is an extremely insightful and thought-provoking book that has challenged me to become more Christlike and loving toward all people, to become more intentional in serving others. I learned a lot about letting the atonement work in my life every day and making it personal. One thing the author stressed is that it’s never too late to change. People are works in progress and Christ’s Atonement has no time limit.

Some quotes that struck me are:
“The disturbing news might be that Adam fell. The reassurance is that Adam can get back up.”
“What if YOU are the miracle someone is praying for? What if they are waiting on God . . . and God is waiting on you?”
“Jesus isn’t in the condemnation business. He’s not even in the cleaning business. He’s in the healing business.”
“When Jesus throws a party, everyone gets invited. Whether we choose to accept the invitation is up to us.”

I really enjoyed being able to delve deeper into the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ in my daily life. We usually think of it as something we’ll use or need in the future, but this book has made me think more about the opportunity we have to use it daily to add power and healing to our lives and the lives of others.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy from Covenant Communications. All opinions are my own.

PERFECT PAMPHLET FOR MOTHER'S DAY!
ENCOURAGING!
INSPIRING!

No guilt trips here! Toni's gives us honesty, humor and most importantly love in this wonderful booklet!

LOVE her opening paragraph...

"This isn't meant to be one of those feather-hugs--a once-a-year-reminder that being a mother matters. This is a celebration--a slap-your-spirit-to-awaken-the-truth kind of tribute. These are words to remind you that what you do as a mother is more important than anything else you could possibly do. Your sacred calling (job) ranks at the very tip-top of the difficulty scale. I'm no fan of Mother's Day--the holiday. I am a fan, however, of celebrating motherhood every day. You deserve more than one day a year set aside to honor you and the daily miracles in which your efforts result."

ISN'T THAT WONDERFUL!
YOU DO DESERVE TO BE HONORED EVERY DAY!
NOTHING CAN REPLACE YOU!

Mother's Day was started by one woman who wanted to celebrate her own mother. She went on to campaigned that all mothers be celebrated.

But like all things Satan twists it to his design...

"He want us to feel inadequate. He reminds us of our failures. He pits us against each other, so that we find ourselves comparing and contrasting, judging and faultfinding until we've destroyed our own support system."

Toni goes on to tell us all the ways each one of us is a mother whether we have given birth or not.

She shares with us her own insights and experiences so beautifully you just can't help but celebrate.

She especially pleads with us to honor those who have lost a child, given a child up for adoption, or have never been able to have their own children...for there is always "a sister at the back of every chapel who slips out early on Mother's Day before the potted plants or pamphlets are passed out."

Motherhood is hard, but so worth it!

Rejoice!
Know you are doing more than you think you are!
Know that you are loved!

Let's take motherhood back from Satan and celebrate it the way our Father in Heaven does!

Follow the heroine Shirley, mother, wife, friend, business owner and daughter as she heads through life feeling loss seeking something that is elusive. Something many women seek but can not put words to... validation. Discover how Shirley gets the validation from the people she thinks she needs it from and how she discovers the one person who she needs validation from isn't a person she ever put on her list.

I found this book to be a quick and fun read. I found myself nodding my head in agreement to many of her revelations as she discovered more about herself then she knew before. It almost read like a self-help book but instead of bullet points it was all narrative. I recommend this to any woman or man who seeks some form of validation out of life and needs some humor along the way.… (más)
