Robert Sommer's principal interest was how external environment affected intellectual activity. He was an authority on constructing class rooms and prison's as well as a consultant on the habitability of larger man made structures. Expertland is a set of largely satirical essays on the interrelations of the personalities encountered as a consultant academic. It is readable, and often entertaining.
