I thought it was an excellent story, there was a lot more to it than I expected, some serious issues covered.

Kept me thinking

It started off slow and I had to make myself continue to read. The farther along I got in the story the better it became.

This is my first book by Victoria H. Smith and I would say that I loved it. Her writing and story telling was very captivating and compelling. She handled the prejudices, racial and financial divide in an honest and real way.

At first I was worried if I was going to like Lacey. What she did to Drake when they first met had me thinking, "the nerve". Doesn't she realize she could ruin a guys life, supposing his family wasn't who they were and had no connections? I know I'm being cryptic here, but personally, I don't want to give away what she did to him. I was shocked she thought she had the right. I wondered how can a future for them happen after this, could he forgive her, even if things don't turn out badly? However, it did seem that Lacey and Drake were destined to be in each others lives when they were surprisingly thrown together again. I ended up really liking Lacey and Drake, I was so proud of him in the end. Lacey and Drake learned from each other about making rash judgments and how alike their lives are no matter their outward difference. Really loved it, Victoria penned a beautiful and profound love story.… (más)

What I loved most about this book was its diversity, because we do need more diverse books. The message that it conveyed was one of acceptance that transcended even beyond the main characters. That to me was just beautiful.

I loved how Griffin and Roxie saw each other for who they were right from the start, and the color of their skin was never an issue. That's how it should be, love should know no boundaries. Roxie was perfect in her imperfectness. She had her insecurities about not being a skinny girl and that's something most girls can relate to. Griffin was the kind of guy who could have any girl he wanted, but after living that lifestyle for a while, he was over it. Deep inside he valued his humble beginnings and his family above all else.

Found by You was an enjoyable new adult read about two extremely different people whose story was unique and lovely.
