Between the pages of this book is a captivating story about a woman who rediscovers herself. Along the way her life is changed and with it the author brings an unforgettable emotional journey of new beginnings. I loved the character development and felt like they were my friends. The children in the story are precious and yes I wanted to take them all home.

Rose needs a change of scenery after her divorce and decides to take the summer to reflect on her life. She finds herself in St. Croix with beautiful clear skies and water that is crystal clear. The place she rents is homey and relaxing. I loved the friendship between Rose and Wendy. It was refreshing to read how their friendship developed from a simple transaction of renting a place to stay to forever friends. Wendy is one of those people you instantly like.

An unexpected accident sends Rose to the clinic to see a doctor. The doctor she sees also runs the orphanage in town. It was easy to like Patrick as his character is very humble, has a heart for children and strong beliefs that he doesn't back down from. Their attraction grows and now Rose finds herself starting to really like Patrick. Can Rose let go of her hurt from the divorce and open her heart to a new relationship? Patrick has his own past that he hasn't let go of. Why does he feel guilty at times being with Rose? I loved how the author showed Patrick as a true gentleman and wouldn't give in to temptation.

Rose's idea to include the children in her project for the orphanage brings excitement to the children. It is so true that children want to feel needed and loved. Her involvement with the children brings her joy and she finds herself starting to get attached to the children. In the story you will meet a very special young boy. I can tell you that he captured my heart and I was ready to bring him home.

I loved when Rose decides to go to church and meets the pastor. The pastor is this big as life person overflowing with joy, love and compassion. There are moments in the story where Rose struggles with her faith. Will she find her way back to God? When it is time for Rose to return home, will she be able to leave? The story is very emotional at times and has a great message of forgiveness, letting go, and finding happiness. Make sure you grab your copy of this wonderful book.

I received a copy of this book from the author and Bookfun.org. This is my honest opinion.

I have just finished this book. As far as the story goes, it was a little different from the common romance, thus making it quite interesting. The characters were fairly well developed. The story line flowed quite well. It is a Christian book, but not overly preachy. It did show that your walk with God is important and showed how Rose did finally get saved or re-connected, that I wasn't sure of. What I did not like about the book was the editing. There were several places where a word was missing or incorrectly used, such as she where her should have been used for an example. The punctuation was good. Editing is important to me and thus lowers my view of this book. The second problem I had was the lady preacher. This is against my beliefs and probably a personal thing, but supported in Scripture
1 Tim. 2:12, states, "I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man" (NIV) .
You may or may not agree with me, but it did affect my view of the book. Overall, I would rate it 4 out o 5 stars.

AFTER SEPTEMBER BY STEPHANIE SMITH
Rose had enough-always running in to her ex and his new bride and nothing was holding her to stay now. Kids were in college so she sold the house and rented one in St. Croix to just get away from everything.
She ends up injuring her foot after waking up on the island and goes to the doctor who runs the local orphanage. They each have an attraction to one another.
Love island life and she discovers she has to find something to do. She had noticed a church on her jaunts around town on her bike-we just bought bikes-yes in our 60's and are enjoying them tremendously.
Author describes the house in such detail you can picture it yourself and want to move in. Ocean breezes was the perfect calming effect.
She had prayed to God to take away the pain and stop praying when the pains remained. She talks to Patrick, the doctor and a bit more relieved after he tells her his story and invites her to church.
Things are going well with them and then they are not. Things are not going as she had expected.
She had turned her back on God and she realizes she really needs him in her life...
I was given the book by the author via Book Fun (The Book Club Network) and this is my honest review.

This is a very enjoyable romance. I laughed and cried in this story. Patrick and Rose are wonderful characters. I felt good for Rose when she decided to stay in St. Croix for a while after seeing her ex-husband and his new wife. She wanted a clean break to get her feelings back together. Patrick is learning to get over the death of his family. I really enjoyed this whole story. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion.
