A straight-forward detective based on the 'less is more'. Maybe for me a little bit too clean. Also some annoying punctuation-errors.

I found it difficult to follow the vernacular at first, but persevered since I wanted to review here. I am glad I did. The major characters were well developed and relatable. The storyline was a good one and everything was tied together in the end in a satisfying way. The book could have used some better editing and the format I had was a bit wonky. But all in all it was an enjoyable myster.

I was frustrated reading this LibraryThing Member GiveAway as I could see the potential of a really good story but I felt I was being subjected to a first draft of free association writing without benefit or courtesy of structure editing nor copy editing.

Convoluted murder investigation of an understudy in a Shakespearean company. The murder is unusual, the victim is nonstandard, there is animosity with another group, the people to be interviewed are extremely diverse, and DI Inga must sort it all out.
I really liked it, but can't call it no nonsense investigating when you come across a phrase like "women who think they're the flea's eyebrows"! Law enforcement personnel each have a complicated backstory, but not as odd as those they are investigating. No, no spoilers here. Read the book, and see for yourself.
Thanks to the publisher and LibraryThing giveaways for this great read.
