This was a difficult book for me and to be perfectly honest I didn't finish it. So I am not giving it a truly fair shake yet. But from what I know about human development and how we learn, and how we make, store, keep and degrade memories, I felt that the author's integration with her self-reported psychic abilities and use of past-life regression psychotherapy to be disturbing. Don't get me wrong! I believe there are other ways of knowing. I have been known to use my gut as well as my mind in sessions, even in the midst of using a standard protocol for any particular disorder. I have secretly said a prayer in session for a client suffering. I don't take psychic knowing outside of the realm of possibilities, but I am not sure their place in therapy is quite so prominent. I think my ethics alarm went off numerous times in the first chapter alone. So should I be able to pick it up once again and finish it, I will revise this review. Perhaps a page a night will get me through this book. Or maybe I'll finish it in the next lifetime?… (más)
