This was a cute time travel story. I listened to this book and overall enjoyed it. A cute tail about time travel. I think the book is what it is, nothing unexpected or crazy, but definitely enjoyable. Will I remember it in a year? Probably not. But I will way the author did a great job of not making this book confusing. Sometimes with the jumping around it can get confusing, but they did a great job. Even on audio, I was able to follow along.

Completely out of nowhere Emme's life is thrown into more disorder than she could have believed possible. After escaping the cold of Maine and going to college in Berkeley, she gets the call that her beloved grandmother who is her only family is critically ill. Too soon Emme makes a promise to grandmother as she is dying and finds that life is seriously weird. With no warning or instructions she finds the library's hidden secrets and totally unexpectedly falls into a book that leads to time travel!
The story explores the sisterhood of librarians who are the keepers as well as Emme's confusing time travels to the same man several times. A great read for a blustery afternoon.
Piper Goodeve is the voice artist who gives excellent voice to the characters.

I have been patiently waiting for the Crimson Key to be released. I fell in love with The Brown House (even though it was quite spooky!), and just had to know what happened next. I would have finished this book in 1 day had my Kindle battery not decide it needed charging (always the worst timing!). I was not disappointed in the least with the second installment of this series.

Brylee is now faced with finding the cure to the curse her boyfriend, Ephraim, and his sister, Lynley, are under. Time is not on her side, as the effects of the curse are becoming more apparent, especially with Lynley. The witches who are responsible for this curse are dead, but yet they hold the key to saving her friends. Who can she trust in this voyage?

Brylee takes Lynley on a shopping trip, to get her out of the house, and her mind off of what is going on, and meets one person who may know just what needs to be done to break the curse after all. A trip to the library also has her making a new friend, but what can she offer?

She then is forced on a two week vacation back to California with her parents to visit her family. This is not the best timing, and she soon realizes it is because her parents want to move back there; just after Brylee has finally found a place she wants to call home- Jersey. However, the trip was not a total waste. Even though she knew she wanted to be back on the East Coast- she has lives to save! She was able to help Ethan and his family move on from their tragedy.

Just when I thought “ah, I know what is going to happen”, I was proven wrong. Evil comes in all shapes and sizes, and you never really know every one’s true intentions. Not all ghosts are bad or there to harm you, and not all living individuals are good.

I eagerly await the next installment, and hope to read more about Brylee’s new-found capabilities as a “ghost whisperer”. There are many souls that need help to pass over. Is she the one that can help them?
