I could hardly not read this book, right? I mean, my name is Larry, and every time I go into Boston, which is rarely, even though I only live ten miles north of the city, I generally get lost. Hell, I find myself mostly lost whenever I drive in to pick up one of my kids at the airport or train station.

Anyway, this is a kids' book. Apparently, it's one of a series. It seems that Larry, a dog, gets lost all over the place, Seattle, San Francisco, New York, etc. The "plot" has Larry and his pal Pete visiting a city with their parents. Well, Pete's parents. Somewhere along the way, Larry gets distracted, finds that Pete is gone, and then goes off to find Pete. Meanwhile, Pete and his parents realize that Larry is missing and wander around in search of him. Along the way, both wander by important visitor sights in the city. In the case of Boston, they go by Fanuel Hall, The Swan boats on the Common, the Science Museum, Fenway Park, and so forth. So, it's a way to learn about the important sights in the city. The story is told in simple verse, which I thought to be fun as well.

It seems a cheat to pad my reading list for the year with such a short book, but then I did read War and Peace, which kind of makes up for this.

We visited DC this summer and this book was in our Air B&B. My 4 yr old liked it so much I thought I'd get a copy to have at home to remember the trip.

Nice art, and a good representation of Elliott Bay -- so yay pacific NW!

The artwork was nice, but I was expecting more of a story. It is more of a guided tour done by a sea otter, which is probably less interesting for children, I would think.
