"4 out of 5 stars, throughout Jenna’s life she has always been living on the road in some aspect or another. The one town she feels most at peace has always been Clifton, Texas. So, when she comes up with the money and fortitude to start the restaurant she has always dreamed about, having it be located in Clifton seems like the best choice. The “problem” is that Jenna’s dream restaurant have strictly vegetarian and vegan meals that she’s bringing to “cattle country,” so what she didn’t count on were the locals picketing against her or having a local cowboy who might become the hero she never realized she needed.

This is a quick read that has enough spunk, hilarity, and sweetness that you’ll be smiling the whole way through. In addition, all I could think of saying when it was finished was, “Awwwww,” because it was just that sweet.

Truly, though..."

"4 out of 5 stars! Since there are bunches of subtle "fairy Godmothers" in this novel I was thoroughly curious to find out who would be marked as the bad guy or "evil step-mother." The main candidates to be crown the behind this scenes title of "evil step-mother" was either going to be Judith (Michael's boss) or Moyra (Sunny's mom). Yet as this novel progressed, you find that both Judith & Moyra are not evil in any way, they are just two very determined women who are set in their ways. And while this compelling story has the buildup of a fairytale, it isn't one, it’s based on a man who's lost the ability to dream and a woman who has the strength to show him the way.

Sunny & Michael are an intriguing couple from their first real meeting at the masquerade to their playful banter with each other to their easy relationship around Sunny's daughter. It all held me spell bound, wanting to read more but also sad to see it end."

Love, Albert is a lighthearted romantic comedy that follows the story about a couple who are heading towards a divorce, until a deceased uncle's final request in his will brings them together on a journey that might bring them back together.

Vicky and Reid Ferguson have been together for eight years, but six months ago the realization that they want two very different lifestyles derails their marriage, and even though they love each other, the differences in their lifestyle choices has them on the road to getting a divorce. That is until Reid's Uncle Albert unexpectedly passes away and leaves his estate to Vicky and Reid. Albert requests that Vicky and Reid take his ashes to Seaport, Oregon, and scatter them at Jackson's Point. Can a deceased uncle's final request and a road trip from California to Oregon be the unexpected and perfect way to bring Vicky and Reid back together for a fresh start?

Author Lynda Simmons weaves an entertaining tale that easily draws the reader into Vicky and Reid's journey. With a nice mixture of drama, humor, and romance, Uncle Albert's last wishes unknowingly brings this couple back together as their journey up the west coast gives them a last chance to patch their marriage up before heading for divorce court.

The author does a wonderful job of giving the reader a picture of how funny Uncle Albert was in life, and how this lovable prankster's divine intervention unexpectedly draws his two favorite people together, a broken couple who are still very much in love with each other, only to be at odds when it comes to agreeing upon a marriage based on a common lifestyle. You can't help but cheer on Vicky and Reid as the road trip gives them an unexpected and much needed chance to air out the differences in their marriage, along with the hope that Uncle Albert's last wishes will be enough to bring them back together. I loved the mixture of humor and romance that was interwoven throughout the story, it made the story both entertaining and endearing, and it easily kept me turning the pages and wondering if the road trip would save Vicky and Reid's marriage.

Love, Albert is an enjoyable story about a couple's undeniable love that is given a second chance through a departed loved one's divine intervention. It is a sweet story that will leave a smile on your face.

This novel is about a dysfunctional family having to deal with Alzheimer's and the relationships within that family. It was set in an idyllic setting that I could see and I did enjoy reading this story, although Ruby grew on me like mold. I could not believe the restraints on Grace. Sure she let her go bird watching, bicycling, and anything that did not require Ruby's "supervision". Her reins were so tight that Ruby HAD to snoop on her computer, lie to her and basically never telling her the whole truth on almost everything. Ruby treated her like she was incapable of being her own person. My heart went out for Grace; she tried her best even with her intellectual delay. Liz, Grace's sister and promising attorney turned alcoholic, I was hoping she would eventually turn her life around and glad she did thanks to her Russian support group Nadia. There are numerous characters that all hold an individual color to the story and I would recommend this novel to anyone who would love a good read. The ending sums up the hopes that the reader is hoping for and pulls everyone together; there is one beautiful surprise for Grace.… (más)
