An immensely satisfying conclusion to a remarkable trilogy.

The protagonists, Elijah - the reluctant prophet - and Naomi - mother of a child that the human incarnation of Lucifer (Don) is determined to claim as his own - face crisis after crisis so that you wonder how they can possibly reach the climax of the book - the end of the world.

The story is steeped in the Christian world-view and you should not be surprised that Biblical quotations and attitudes become more prevalent. The characters continue to grow and mature, especially Elijah who is forced to choose between evils and finds himself an appalled and reluctant partner in Don's attacks on his own friends. Some of the characters from books and and two in the series reappear in this, and I did find that I couldn't always recall their earlier actions as it is months since I read them, but there were enough clues in the story to remind you of who they were and how they stood in relationship to the characters in this book.

I said the climax of the book is the end of the world, but it is not the end of the book. I was surprised and pleased to read the chapters that follow, which left the reader with a sense of hope and anticipation rather than the awfulness of Armageddon.

I do urge you to read the series in order: Unbound, Clothed with the Sun, and finally Great White Throne.

Breathtaking

The story begun in book one gathers pace. The characters continue to grow in response to the shocking events they witness. The use of technology and the manipulation it makes possible in the not-too-distant time in which the book is set makes for an awesome approach to Armageddon. Cant wait for the final volume!

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW

Good story, a little spoiled by bland delivery.

The performance is quite flat, lacking much in the way of emotion, and when it does build to a climax, the voice goes straight on to the next chapter without giving you time to let the climax be felt. This latter may be a fault of the producer rather than the reader.

Perhaps a larger flaw is the reader’s lack of flexibility in voices. He varies the older male characters quite well, but the younger characters can blur into each other, and the main female character is too little differentiated from the leading male character - and as these two are the prime drivers of the plot this can be a little confusing at times.

Despite this I am going to listen to the other two volumes in the trilogy, but I do wish there was a different reader.

This is a book for young adults and adults. This is a book of romance and science fiction with a bit of thriller.is the world going to end or will Elijah be able to save the world. He and another group of teenagers try to join a group that will teach them to be spies. Can they do it? I really enjoyed this first book of a trilogy and look forward to reading the second two in the series. I received this book from bookfun.org for a fair and honest opinion.
