This book is about women which helped the patriots win the American Revolution. This book consists of many stories of many woman that have been recognized as heroines. A woman and her daughters helped the patriots to escape from New York while keeping the British Commandants for tea. Her husband is one of the few that like the British. Some remarkable woman are mentioned here, including the woman that took her husband's place at the cannon. This book also includes woman that became disabled fighting in the war. Dressing as men to be accepted into the army, or fool the British into captivity. Woman at the time were allowed to visit patriot prisoners with the British permission. One woman, Elizabeth Burgin,
helped a large quantity of captive prisoners escape the British.
I like this book. I have mentioned a few of the many stories in this book. I think these are actual Heroines and deserve the recognition they received. All the woman were part of the patriot army. There was even a black celebrity woman at the time, which I found surprising since racism was advanced back than. There was even a woman that helped start the revolution which I find wild. There were a few woman that killed the British and that makes me a little disgusted. This is a good read to learn a fare amount about the American Revolution.
