“Heart Waves” by Danielle Sibarium

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This book is great! Danielle Sibarium is truly a talented writer! “Heart Waves” had me from the beginning and kept me sucked in the entire time. I absolutely loved that the author combined my favorite genres into one story: Contemporary Romance and Paranormal. It was Young Adult, which I love too! I give this book 5 STARS because it was just awesome in every way!
Jenna, the main character of “Heart Waves,” is the same as most other teenage girls her age…except that she has a gift. Jenna knows things other people don’t, and she can pick up personal information just by touching something, such as a piece of jewelry. While at a party, Jenna meets a boy named Reece and she instantly falls for him. They have an immediate connection and want to see where their chemistry will lead. However, there is one small problem…from the moment they met, Jenna learned of a prediction that Reece was going to break her heart. Jenna spends a lot of her relationship with Reece waiting for the other shoe to drop – waiting to see if Reece was really going to break her heart.

I loved the characters of Danielle Sibarium’s “Heart Waves” so much! Jenna and Reece were absolutely amazing, and I enjoyed everything about them. I was routing for their love and wanted to see them happy, but I was nervous throughout the entire story waiting to see if the prediction was going to come true. I think that “Heart Waves” is a story for many people. I would recommend it to young adult and adult readers, as well as Contemporary Romance and Paranormal fans. As a Paranormal fan, I enjoyed the Paranormal twist. But, for people that do not normally read Paranormal books…don’t worry! Of course, it is a part of the story but it isn’t the main focus. The Romance is more the main point. Therefore, Danielle Sibarium’s “Heart Waves” is a novel that will please readers from several different genres. This 5 STAR book by this talented author is a story that you will want to read! I also really enjoyed another novel by Ms. Sibarium, called “For Always” which was great. Go out and add Ms. Danielle Sibarium’s work to your ‘To Be Read’ list now if “Heart Waves” and “For Always” are not already on it. If they are on your list…then what are you waiting for?! I also look forward to reading the next installment in this series, “Breaking Waves.”

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I was happy to curl up with this book. I always enjoy YA novels, and “For Always” was no exception. I enjoyed that it wasn’t a happy-go-lucky teen scene book; I liked that I felt raw emotion. I am going to give “For Always” 4 STARS and I would definitely read more from author Danielle Sibarium. I would recommend this book to people who like to read Young Adult novels and to anyone who likes to read fiction that deals with real life issues. Though, due to some of the scenes and concepts of this book I would say that this book is more for the mature young adults.

Main character Stephanie Barrano is a relatable character for a lot of teenage girls. She has many issues in her life that are real. This isn’t the popular YA paranormal type book (even though I love those) where the character is dealing with fictional drama. This book has issues like depression, death, rejection, and anxiety – all issues ANYONE can experience. But there are also the lighter emotions of love, happiness, and hope. This novel is based on the relationship between Stephanie and older “friend” Jordan.

Stephanie meets Jordan when she is a freshman in high school and he a senior. They developed a friendship, but Stephanie wanted more. Jordan was against a relationship between them due to their age difference. Four years later, when Stephanie turns 18, can she and Jordan finally have a relationship? Will Jordan find some other excuse not to be with her? Will something else prevent them from being together? Or will Stephanie and Jordan finally live happily ever after? Find out in “For Always” by Danielle Sibarium!

Again, I give this book 4 stars! I think that if you like Contemporary Romance, YA, and real-life issues then you will love this book!

This was a really hard one to review! I really liked the characters, and the longevity of the romance building between Jordan and Stephanie. This was a young adult novel, and it was a glimpse of pure young love. Romance readers will melt with the growing bond between these two main characters. As a story this was as far as my raving could go. As much as I wanted to love this story it just seemed to be lacking the power and intensity that seemed to be simmering under the surface. The constant tug of war for Jordan and Stephanie was a very luring aspect in the beginning, but as the story progressed I found this to be frustrating and overwhelming with the slow and steady pace. Closing in on the conclusion things seemed to pick up as the plot thickens, but at this point I think it was a bit too late. I found myself with a sense of confusion at a couple points in the story. For example, Stephanie's friend was an enigma to me. At first it appeared as though this girl was a horrible friend. Never caring about her friends feeling, and only out to guarantee happiness for number one. Then all of a sudden it appeared to shift when she was not angry about Steph's feelings for Jordan. Then, only to have it questioned again when Jordan and Steph are no longer getting along. So in the end, I am just as conflicted as I started. Is this girl a true friend, or is she really the selfish and conceited person that I was portraying through the pages? It was very confusing and misleading at times. With a combination of the length, pace, and uncurtaining this left a lot to be desired. With some much potential I really wished I would have liked this story better.… (más)
