This author combines two themes and does a very good job on both. The first two thirds of the book describe in detail the way of life and geographic distribution of the rock art prehistoric painters of mostly Texas. In the last third of the book the author describes the styles of rock art found in Texas and has examples of each with extensive text detail on each. References are abundant throughout the book. This is an excelent ring-bound workshop course manual, published in 2006 and used in numerous subsequent stone artifact workshops on Texas Indian artifacts.
The manual is broken into five segments. Each segment has illustrations or photos where appropriate. There is a glossary of terms at the back that describe some of the more technical terms used in the manual.
I found both the course and manual very good.
