Ah, the world of opera, with its wealthy donors, manipulative sopranos, feuds and finagling, such fun! Throw in a slutty countertenor whose critic mentor wants him to be just a tad bit too authentic for those early music roles, a transgendered florist with a taste for toxic plants, a private secretary with a secret, a diary that appears, disappears, and appears again, and it's all very, well, very operatic!

Like an opera, the plot doesn't quite hang together, and sometimes strains credulity, but, also like an opera, who cares? This production was designed to get the audience laughing, and that it certainly does.… (más)
