In 1961, Nazi hunter Simon Wiesenthal (Martin Landau) listens to a story he has heard many times: love torn apart by war, fear, separation and despair. But this story has a twist that is shocking and unbelievable. When the Germans invade Poland, Max (Treat Williams) and his fiancée Helen (Alice Krige) are sent to a Nazi work camp. Days are a struggle to survive and nights are filled with the screams of prisoners being beaten mercilessly by the brutal commandant. Max begs Helen to join him in escaping, but she chooses to stay. He promises to return for her and flees, only to be exiled to Siberia. After twenty years, the memory of Helen has become his only reason for living. But when finally reunited, Max discovers that Helen bears a dark, shameful secret that even their great love may not endure. (fonte: raremovies.biz)… (más)

Germania, 1961.
