This is the first book I have read in this series and by this author yet I wasn’t confused or lost but I do plan to go back and enjoy the rest. This book was emotional for a MC book because One Eye (side note his road name should have been Pirate or what I called him in my head One Eyed Willy lol) and Alicia have had a relationship that hasn’t been the easiest because one is afraid to fully open up to the other and the other is still learning to deal with their past. They decide to call a timeout on their relationship to try to become better versions of themselves yet all the time apart does is make them miss each other And angry at the world. One Eye wants his family no matter what but can he let Alicia fully in and learn about his past or is he too afraid she will run when she learns the details? Will Alicia fully ever trust men again or herself to be strong enough for her and her daughter or will she run away never finding peace? This book was suspenseful, emotional, funny at times, and frustrating which was all enjoyable. I did think Alicia’s back and forth with One Eye was very frustrating because she wanted him to let her in yet she kept holding herself back it was like she was leading him on yet not really knowing that was what she was doing. Alicia had a rough marriage before that did destroy her trust in men but when she started a relationship with One Eye she knew he was a fierce protector and his club only handle those who are cruel and deserving so when she said she didn’t know how to deal it left me asking why. Why is it when women in MC romance books start to date the protective alpha biker suddenly become crazy fearful and hate their lifestyle knowing this is what they signed up for from the start? Anyways I did love One Eye’s character he was loyal, loving, and wanted to always be there/protect his family. Kimmy, Alicia’s daughter was very cute and the way her relationship with One Eye progressed was adorable because they loved each other unconditionally. Overall this was a great read with suspense and angst that makes a good MC romance.… (más)

I had to give K.L. Savage's Seer from the Ruthless Kings MC: Nola series 3.5 stars. Seer's character was hyped up in past books from the original Ruthless Kings MC series like Tongue's book Tongue's Target and before that A Ruthless Halloween. The book was drawn out in a lot of places it didn't need to be. It took me twice as long to read it because it couldn't keep my attention. We never even got to see Seer's full potential in this.
Seer is the VP of the MC and he has the ability of sight or seeing the future. It has helped his club and other chapters in the past survive many dark and dangerous times. He keeps thinking he's getting a vision but all he gets is intense pain in his brain. He doesn't know that someone he wouldn't expect is working against him. He keeps it to himself until he puts Hex in danger during a mission where he was supposed to have Hex's back. Then he has to come clean to Pocus about what has been going on.
By chance he meets Victoria and she realizes what is going on. Mama sends her to Seer as her last test to officially get into the voodoo community. She has to save him though and chooses to do anything, even things she would never do to save him. Victoria is a healer and soul searcher. She can take others pain into herself, which relieves them.
After Seer messes up the mission with Hex, Pocus tries to teach him something and it sets Seer off. But the club is supposed to be figuring out what's going on with the dead bodies showing up and a new drug on their streets. Nobody knows Seers true past and history so when Pocus did what he did it made him feel like an outcast again. He took off and did something reckless but luckily Pocus followed him and was able to save him. Hex blamed himself for what happened to Seer. When Victoria shows up telling Pocus she was sent to save his sight, she also tells him that someone was blocking his visions and taking his energy. From helping him, Victoria/Tory finds out who his family is and where he's from. Pocus goes to try that angle to see if he can find help or figure out who's doing it to him. Tory stays and tries something on him that she would normally not do. Thankfully Hex was there to help her in many ways she didn't know she's need. Watching over Seer she realized she was attracted to him.
Pocus found out who was the cause of everything happening but it was going to take everything in him and all his contacts and favors to try and find him. Anderson Grey makes an appearance in this book because he's the one Pocus has to go to for the information he's looking for. It turns out that the enemy doesn't just want Seer's sight he thinks he's entitled to but also Tory's because he deserves the world. Tory finds out he was behind her mother's health problems also because he was a novice and messed up what he was doing to her. Tory and especially Seer have trouble ahead and will need all the help they can get. And Seer has a lot of decisions to make. Will he kill his enemy? Will he even find him? Does he have his sight back? Will Tory be his Ol'Lady? I don't want to give spoilers so you'll have to read the book for those answers.
There are lots of twists and turns in this one like I've come to expect from K.L. Savage's books and they were on point. But the good parts were rushed just to get back to the slow burn of Seer and Tory's attraction to each other. For as long as the book was the wrong parts took too long to work themselves out. Seer and Tory were attracted to each other from the start so there didn't need to be a drawn out relationship. I hope the next book in the series contains all the things I love about K.L. Savage's writing and we see the characters full potential.

I've have read all of the Ruthless Kings MC books and the spin offs. I really enjoy how raw K.L. Savage writes her work. She's very detailed and graphic when it counts. Her characters have gone through some things that a normal human wouldn't be able to make it through. I've been anticipating the NOLA chapter series for awhile now. Ever since Seer was introduced in another book.
The NOLA chapter is different from any of the others because they tie in with voodoo and the paranormal. Most of the members themselves have some type of power or skill. Starting off with Pocus was a good choice. He is the President of the club and a strong man. But even being who he is he can't outrun the past and old rivals that want to take everything from him including his sister. His enemy even uses hexes himself to try and take everything from Pocus.
Pocus finds out about Abigail and starts following her. She has no clue that a hex has been put on her and it's making her do things she never normally would. Pocus stops her from murdering someone, not going to say who and takes her back to the club to interrogate her. That's when they figure out she's been hexed but she doesn't believe them. I mean who would? And now the hex is killing her. Pocus feels a strong connection to Abigail and knows he wants her, if he can save her that is.
Things keep piling up on Pocus's shoulders and it's a lot. His clubhouse is about to be taken, a beautiful hexed assassin is tasked with killing him and one of his members is in jail on trumped up charges. I don't think he can take anything else going wrong when he has enough to fix and a woman to claim. Will he keep his clubhouse and get rid of his rival? Will he get his brother out of jail? More importantly will he save the woman he's fallen for and claim her?
After not releasing anything for a bit K.L. Savage came back with a bang in Pocus. Next up for her is Seer. Considering he's the one with the gift of sight I can only imagine what she's going to go with his story and can't wait to read it.

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a sucker for anthologies. It is the easiest way to discover new authors and also get reacquainted with old favorites. MC romance is one of my favorite subgenres so getting an MC anthology with a Christmas theme is like a Festivus Miracle.

I, initially, discovered that this anthology was even going to be a thing because of my deep love for all things Serena Akeroyd and India R. Adams. They sure did not disappoint in this collection of stories. It was very bittersweet to come back into the worlds that they have created and because of that, I have been eager for this anthology since I first heard that it was going to be released. It was not a disappointment by any stretch of the imagination and was well worth the wait. All of the authors did an exceptional job.

Each story in this collection was different. Some were sweet and some were a little more heartbreaking. Yet, one thing that they all had in common was the camaraderie and loyalty that I have come to expect from MC books. Regardless of whether it was a 1% club or one that stayed law-abiding, the loyalty and brotherhood always stand out. It was great to see some of the best authors in this genre show off their skills.

I discovered a couple of authors that were new to me which is great because now I have new books to binge on. Some of the other stories reminded me that I had some catching up to do when the series had gotten lost in my ever-growing TBR list which again has me excited because, YAY, more books!

This is a great collection of stories that will easily fit into time constraints over the upcoming holidays. Highly recommend this anthology as there was not a bad story of the bunch.
