The poems in this collection, aptly named Oil Spill, are thick and heavy like oil, sourced from a deep well of emotion that leaves the reader feeling raw and exposed because we’ve all been there where the poet is standing. Often, as I read the words, I thought to myself, how did he know? I saw bits and pieces of my past self on the pages, read about them in the words, felt them in the reverberations that followed. This collection would make a good companion on those sleepless 2 a.m. nights when the catharsis of a good cry is necessary.… (más)
