Logan Sellers, freshly paroled from prison, is working to get his life back together. He's fortunately found a part-time job that will hopefully help him make ends meet with the promise of becoming full-time in the near future. But when his boss offers him a side job running errands for his agoraphobic apartment-bound nephew, Caleb, Logan finds himself in a place he never expected. He finds himself compelled to help Caleb work on overcoming his agoraphobia and completely attracted to him, as well. But can he manage a relationship while trying to stay sober and keep his life in order? And what would his boss say if he acted on his feelings?

Logan and Caleb are utterly adorable. There are definitely a number of factors that complicate things for them here, and I felt like they were dealt with in an authentic way. Many times in romance novels, circumstances seem to magically work themselves out and that's not the case here. There are struggles and setbacks and things to work through for everyone involved. And the result is a gripping and realistic story that hits all the right notes.

This was my first book by J.D. Ruskin and I liked it.
The story is very character driven, there's some drama but no angst, and the writing flowed nicely. In all I have no major complaints and I've enjoyed the story - looking forward to reading more by this author.

3 stars. Nice enough story, even though it stalled a few times. I did enjoy reading it, but I am afraid, it's nothing remarkable. There are few books on my shelves just like that, four stars and nice comments on progress, but I have no recollection of the events and characters - they are blending in with too many (similar) books I've already read. More of the same.

Peeves:

I don't quite get Karen. Her purpose is clear enough, but she is evil just for the sake of being evil... sorry, "a nuisance". Showing up at all the convenient times to prod the story along.

Too many gay people popping up all over the place. MCs are obvious, so is AA center, but then it's Debb, and Caleb's neighbor, and let's not forget that butch dyke on the first floor. And, surprise, surprise - Harry... And I am still not sure about Michael O.o

For someone with a severe case of phobia, Caleb is surprisingly light on his feet, going to overcrowded places and not having a single episode in a public place.
