While the plot is not exactly original in itself, I liked how the author managed the inevitable drama due to Nikki discovering the silly bet Jake made at her expenses...and that's the reason I awarded [a:Katie Rose|399542|Katie Rose|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/f_50x66-6a03a5c12233c941481992b82eea8d23.png]'s book 4 stars instead of 3.

Moreover, Nikki and Jake are really hot together!!! ;)

Gavin's world is slowly unraveling. Can Jess help put the pieces back together. I am not a big fan of sports romances. Have only read about a handful. Every once in a while I stumble across a book and author that surprises me. Katie Rose is one of those. She puts her heart into every novel and that is what makes them so special. Ms. Rose created two people with feelings of inadequacy and built a friendship and understanding that lead to more. A stronger foundation built on love. I received an ARC of The Heat of the Moment. I am not a sports fan. My least favorites are football and baseball. So if I can sit through a story centered around a subject I hate it has to be good. Katie Rose keeps me coming back to experience the nostalgia, romance, successes and failures of The Boys of Summer. With The Heat is On she really outdid herself. She gave young love a second chance despite the obstacles that pulled them apart. The fact that Tracy, the beautiful girl Connor never forgot happened to be a single mother of four was an added bonus. Connor a successful athlete was just as enamored with the mature women as he was with the beautiful young girl. Because he saw her through the eyes of love. I received an ARC of the heat is on in exchange for an honest review. Lovely story of life's little surprises.… (más)
