"The complete history of the marque" - what a joke! Pretty much all of the books that I've read about Mercedes-Benz skirt over the war years (brief mentions at most), but this has to be the most poorly constructed history yet. The author fails to engage the reader with disjointed and sloppy writing, but what bothered me the most was that his personal interest in the racing history of the brand (and not much else) was blattantly clear without being admitted. He claims to present an overall history, but the only times he actually goes into any sort of detail is when discussing racing stats and engine specs, which have their place to be sure, but he's missing the rest of the brand's innovations in consumer and commercial vehicle development.… (más)
