"They Call Me Mix" is an informative story that was written by a teacher recalling what it was like growing up non-binary. The text teaches children that it is okay to be who you want to be, and that is an amazing thing. It also talks about how some people may not be as accepting as others, but that there is a community of people who love them and fully accept everyone for who they are. I think this book provides a great message to students who may be going through a similar situation as well as their peers who may not have been introduced to this before. Through this they learn to respect others and treat others as they want to be treated.… (más)
