I have not read anything by Julie A. Richman before and I thought I may get a little lost a I hadn’t read the Needing Moore series but this is a spin off from that series and can be read as standalone books too.
This book is primarily about Holly Moore and Aiden McManus, who had a relationship previously but Aiden was about to be sent on tour and although he loved her, he knew that he may get messed up while away and didn’t want her to wait for him, he didn’t want to mess up her life too, he was protecting her basically.

As it turns out Aiden was hurt both mentally and physically during this time and when he eventually comes back to Fire Island he is a fraction of the man he was and when Holly sees him he pushes her away, can they eventually come back together? well you will have to read the book.

I found this a really easy book to get into, it was written well and the story was great, there was a lot of head smacking going on, and my inner voice telling them to sort it out as you could feel the attraction and connection between them.
I loved how all the other characters all played an important role in the book too, Holly’s father Schooner and Mia in particular.

All in all it was a fantastic book and it has made me want to read the Needing Moore series now, which I already have on my Kindle awaiting me.
I would definitely recommend it.

I remember liking it enough that I thought I wanted to read more of the series.
I also remember it was slow paced and sluggish in a few areas.
I did get the bundle but apparently I wasn't wrapped up enough to get moving on reading them.

This book was a pleasant surprise. It was different than I expected. The characters were engaging and their chemistry was intense. With the way that the prologue started I was invested to discover "what" Sierra was a slave to from this story. I liked that she book ended it with an epilogue that tied back to being a slave.

First - "Hope" has been my mantra since I was 13 YO and fighting for my life after being diagnosed with cancer. To see that presented so well here thrilled me. This book made me laugh, cry and reflect a lot. I had a hard time putting it down and am now quite anxious to read more of the author's work.

I'm not certain how anyone could not be drawn into this story. I'm sure most of us, while maybe not connecting on the level written about; have at least one past romance that we wish we could have a do over!

Cancer at any age is scary - and losing someone you love to it is too. I've unfortunately been in both situations more than I ever expected. But Ms. Richman dealt with it very well.

In my world, this book is a true survivor!
