This is reminiscences by the man who created and led workcamps for the American Friends Service Committee, from 1935 to 1973. The multi-racial and multi-ethnic workcamps in America, Europe, and Africa challenged the deepest prejudices and hostility of race, nationality, and class. The love of Christ was his inspiration. The man and the history are very interesting, but it reads a little flat.
