I obtained this ARC from the author as a gift. I did not agreed to post a review but felt compelled to with this clean and witty story. Matt Malone, an out of work actor, was desperate for work as his rent was going up and he would need to move back with his mom and dad. He was a grown man and not some pimply faced kid! He entered the Toronto bus and spotted a woman then gave her his killer smile, but one look from the ice princess frozen him out.

Chelsea Andrews knew she made a big mistake by traveling home at midnight on a city bus. Then, horror of horrors a creep took a liking to her and followed her when she moved to another seat, but worse of all another nutty man who said his name was Norman Bates ran the first nut off the bus!… (más)

I was given this book for an honest review by Jana Richards & Manic Readers

Julia is a high school principal and the mother of Ava an adorable five year old. She has no time for romance and her fear of trusting another man after the job her ex-husband did on her prevents her from taking the time. When her daughter is injured and in need of medical attention she meets Dr. Campbell. He in Lobster Cover long enough to pay his medical school debts then he plans on going home to the west coast. That is until he meets Julia and Ava.

This will be a pretty short review because I was lucky to read enough of this book to even come up with a review.

This one seemed a bit too short. Put together as it is it's a great novella, but I wish there had been more between the lines. The 'romance' doesn't seem to be supported enough. So many things were well written, that it made the center of the book seem a bit empty or lacking. Or it just moved faster than I thought fitting. This would have been excellent with 50 more pages or so and a few more scenes developing the relationship between Cara and Finn.

That said, I did like the book. Finn is adorably insecure for himself but he is so completely focused on Cara as he sees her it's seductive. Parts of Cara's character with her thoughts and realizations stumbled a bit, but she was still engaging. Finn and the story made up for not liking Cara as much. It's a nice story of coming into your own, realizing your life doesn't end at 40 and you still can make something of yourself. I've never read Jana Richards before, but I'm going to check out some of her other books.
