If you want to impress your guests and have access to British butchers and fishmongers, you will probably find this cookbook very useful. That goes double if you have a big kitchen, maybe even with staff.

Having said that, there are several interesting recipes for Seville oranges. For early rhubarb. For chestnuts. Often the recipe I'm interested in is only part of a bigger conglomeration that otherwise doesn't interest me. l'll hang on to this for now.

Great book. All of the Gary Rhodes recipes I have tried have been superb though, he can do no wrong.

A really smart synthesis of cheffy cookery and British recipes. Good essays on special subjects. Overall the best reinterepretation of British cuisine I have read thus far.
